The Original Pancake House, an American brunch chain with locations across the United States, has now come to Seoul. The interior is reminiscent of its roots, with diner-style tables and black-and-white photographs of Portland, Oregon (the chain’s hometown) on the walls. The restaurant features a diverse roster of pancakes, topped with bananas, chocolate chips, strawberries or Hawaiian syrup. The potato pancakes were light and crispy, and topped with real sour cream — a difficult find in Korea. The omelettes are a good choice for those who prefer their breakfast savory. Light and fluffy, with filling options like cheese, salami and bacon, the omelettes also come with a side of three buttermilk pancakes. The Original Pancake House is recommended if you’re looking for a hearty, American-style diner brunch.
