City Guide Restaurant Reviews: The Original Pancake House (Seoul)

The Original Pancake House, an American brunch chain with locations across the United States, has now come to Seoul. The interior is reminiscent of its roots, with diner-style tables and black-and-white photographs of Portland, Oregon (the chain’s hometown) on the walls. The restaurant features a diverse roster of pancakes, topped with bananas, chocolate chips, strawberries or Hawaiian syrup.

City Guide Photo Gallery: Burger B (Seoul)

Burger B’s delicious pubfare, as well as a decent drinks list that includes IPAs on draft, makes it a go-to place in the trendy Hongdae neighborhood. Utensils and condiments arrive in a metal bucket, and the background music ranges from ’90s pop music to the Black Keys. We recommend Burger B’s signature dish, the Ultimate Burger, whose burger comes with an addictive truffle aoli, thin-cut fries and a shot of vanilla milkshake.

City Guide Photo Gallery: Grill5Taco (Seoul)

From its humble beginnings as a food truck, Grill5Taco now has two bustling locations in Hongdae and Gangnam’s Apgujeong neighborhood. The reasonably priced tacos, burritos and quesadillas combine Korean and Mexican flavors, and they offer free, unlimited nacho chips as well as authentic guacamole. Need I say more?
